Joe Nicosia | Global Platform Head of Cotton | Louis Dreyfus Company
Joe Nicosia is the Chief Executive Officer of Allenberg Cotton Co. as well as the Global Platform Head of Cotton for Louis Dreyfus Company. Joe graduated from Dartmouth College in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and the same year joined Louis Dreyfus Commodities as a grain trader in Minneapolis. In 1982 he transferred to Allenberg Cotton Co. and in 1985 assumed responsibility for cotton trading worldwide. Joe is active in several cotton industry associations and is a past Chairman and serves on the board of directors of the American Cotton Shippers Association. Joe is also the long-time chairman of the Futures Committee of ACSA. He is also on the board of directors of the National Cotton Council of America.
Michael Every | Head of Financial Markets Research, Asia Pacific | Rabobank
Michael is based in Hong Kong, he analyses the major developments in the Asia-Pacific region and contributes to the bank’s various economic research publications for internal and external customers and to the media.
Michael has more than 18 years of experience working as an Economist and Strategist. Before Rabobank, he was a Director at Silk Road Associates, a strategy consultancy based in Bangkok. Prior to this, he was Senior Economist and Fixed Income Strategist at the Royal Bank of Canada based in both London and Sydney. Michael was formerly also an Economist for Dun & Bradstreet in London, covering ASEAN.
Michael holds a Masters degree in Economics (with distinction) from University College London and speaks Thai.
Doug King | Chairman | RCMA
Doug King joined his partner Michael Coleman as co-owner shortly after Mike founded RCMA Asset Management (formerly Aisling Analytics) in 2004. A Singapore and London based commodity focused hedge fund manager, RCMA AM’s flagship product is the $200 million Merchant Commodity Fund which launched in June 2004 and between 2007 and 2011 managed assets of over $1 billion (peaking at $2.7 billion in 2008).
The fund has returned an average compounded return of approximately 15% per year since then with three losing years in twelve with a record near 60% performance in 2014. Doug based in London is the Chief Investment Officer.
Doug is also chairman and largest shareholder of the privately held RCMA Group, a physical commodity trading business comprising of eighteen offices and close to three hundred employees worldwide. The RCMA Group distributes rubber, white sugar, cotton, coffee, energy and synthetic rubber on a global basis turning over approximately $1.3 billion annually.
Before joining Mike in 2004, Doug was head of oil trading for Crown Resources, Switzerland and prior to that spent 10 years with Cargill joining them after graduating with a degree in Mathematical Engineering from Loughborough University, England.
Over that decade, he managed three of their businesses and is a former head of their global petroleum trading operations in Geneva, their UK grain business and their UK non-grain ingredient business.
Mark Pryor | CEO | The Seam
Mark Pryor is the Chairman and CEO of The Seam, where he orchestrates the company’s strategic initiatives including blockchain, commodities management, trading, clearing and software development solutions for agriculture. Mark was previously the Chief Technology Architect for The Seam when the company began in the year 2000.
Mark began his career in banking software architecture which led to award-winning Internet and touch-screen banking products which were first-of-kind in the late 1990’s. His further research and development in web-based technologies, resulted in the architecture of multi-industry software solutions in use today by agribusinesses throughout the global supply chain.
Mark was recently featured in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, NASDAQ, Fibre2Fashion, Just-Style and other industry news outlets for spearheading the formation of a global cotton industry blockchain consortium.
