We have launched a new, ICAspire membership category yesterday (9 October) at our Liverpool 2019 trade event to increase engagement and help develop the future of cotton.
Applications are now open for this membership category which is tailored for new or young individuals who want to develop their skills and aspire to be a better cotton professional.
One young professional, Ben Eaves (Broker / Risk Management Consultant at Earlam and Hursthouse) explains why he thinks the membership category is so important:
“People often talk about the future of cotton in the context of price or sustainability, but the future leaders and drivers of our industry supply chains are seldom a topic of conversation. The new ICAspire membership category will help change this by bringing those aspiring professionals to the forefront. Current leaders and employers should encourage their eligible staff to join and attend ICAspire events, which are focused on professional as well as
personal development that will pave the way for members to take their careers to the next level.”
Bill Kingdon, ICA Managing Director added:
“We are very excited about this new membership category. It will benefit ICAspire members and their companies by creating an opportunity to develop their skills amongst a network of like-minded professionals. It also provides the ICA with an opportunity to better engage with the next generation of cotton and improve the value added to membership through an increased understanding of what our members want. We hope those individuals eligible will choose to invest in themselves and sign-up and that those in senior positions will choose to invest in their employees and the future of their companies by offering their support.”
ICAspire membership is open to any employee of an ICA member firm who is under 40 years of age or within the first five years of their career in cotton. Membership costs £99 per annum (+ VAT if applicable) and includes access to ICAspire Development Forums and access to an exclusive online forum. Individual ICA members who meet the criteria can enroll free of charge.
